This is a key leadership role supporting the long-term sustainability and operational excellence of the school in service of its Catholic mission. The Finance & Operations Manager serves as the strategic and operational lead for all financial functions of the Academy. Working closely with the Superintendent and campus principals, this individual ensures responsible stewardship of resources, strong internal controls, and clear financial insight to support decision-making and long-range planning.

In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.
Key Responsibilities:

As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life
Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
Continuous growth in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis
Oversee the Academy’s accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance
Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with school leadership
Establish and enforce strong internal financial controls and audit-ready processes
Oversee accounts payable/receivable, cash handling, and financial workflows
Deliver clear, timely monthly financial reports and insights to support leadership decision-making
Review contracts, vendor agreements, and major expenditures for alignment with budget and policy
Oversee operational systems, including tuition management (FACTS) and payment platforms
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Serve as the primary liaison with the Diocese Office of Human Resources for all human resources matters, ensuring local implementation and compliance with diocesan policies, and overseeing HR-related processes
Supervise and develop finance staff
Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or business operations
Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls
Experience in nonprofit, school, or parish settings preferred
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage complexity and lead cross-functional processes
Valid Texas driver's license required
Must be 21 years of age or older
Additional Requirements:
Must submit to employment required screenings including a criminal history background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources
