POSITION SUMMARY:
Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish is seeking a Youth and Young Adult Ministry Coordinator to develop, oversee and implement formation programs in catechesis, spiritual growth, and community service as well as nurturing a lively understanding and engagement in the Catholic Faith bringing a practice of life in Christ and the Church.
Areas of Concentration
- English Speaking Youth Group (6th-12th grades)
- Spanish Speaking Youth Group (6th-12th grades)
- Young Adult outreach and support
- Confirmation Coordinator in English and Spanish (8th-12th grades)
Key Responsibilities
- Recruiting, coordinating and managing Catechists, volunteers, and a Leadership Team.
- Selecting educational materials and resources, planning and implementing retreats and opportunities to form community and sharing faith, and organizing community service and mission projects/trips.
- Collaborating with the parish Formation Team and the Diocesan level Ministers.
- Leading fundraising events and implementing formation programs.
- Maintaining an accurate database of program enrollment and communicating with families and promoting programs.
- Preparing and administering a yearly budget, attending all staff meetings and events.
- Following the policies and procedures of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington and Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish.
Qualifications
- Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the church
- Knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church
- Possess a training and formation background, Leadership and Christian formation/teaching.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent leadership, relational, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficiency with computers
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time salary position (approximately 37.5 hours per week)
