Job Summary
The Classroom Aide supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and faith-centered learning environment. This role assists with instructional activities, classroom management, and student supervision while helping to uphold the Catholic identity and values of St. Stephen Protomartyr School.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher with instructional activities, small‑group learning, and individual student support.
- Help prepare learning materials, organize resources, and support daily classroom routines.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive, respectful, and faith-filled learning atmosphere.
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-classroom times to ensure safety.
- Support students with diverse learning needs and provide additional academic and behavioral assistance as directed.
- Assist with administrative and clerical tasks, such as copying, filing, distributing materials, and preparing supplies.
- Observe and communicate student progress, concerns, or behavioral changes to the teacher.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school events as required.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
- Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively, and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Patience, compassion, and a supportive attitude toward student growth and development.
- Willingness to model and support the Catholic values and mission of the school.
