Job Summary
TheMiddle School ELA Teacher at St. Frances Cabrini Academy is responsible for providing high‑quality, faith‑centered instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills. This role supports students’ academic growth, critical thinking, and literacy development while fostering a respectful and engaging learning environment rooted in Catholic values and the mission of the school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑based English Language Arts instruction, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking skills.
- Promote critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication through varied instructional strategies and text analysis.
- Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and ethical perspectives into daily instruction and classroom discussions where appropriate.
- Create and maintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environment that supports student learning and accountability.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of middle school students.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional practices.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school policies.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress and academic expectations.
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, and support staff to support student success and school initiatives.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, liturgical celebrations, and school community events.
- Adhere to all school policies, diocesan guidelines, and professional expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required).
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility (preferred).
- Experience teaching middle school ELA (preferred).
- Strong classroom management, instructional, and communication skills.
- Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic School.
