Position Summary
St. Timothy Catholic Church seeks a mission-driven and highly capable Parish Business Manager to serve as the Pastor’s primary operational partner.
The Business Manager oversees the parish’s financial, administrative, facilities, and human resource functions, ensuring that operations are well-managed, transparent, and aligned with diocesan policies.
Through responsible stewardship and thoughtful leadership, the Business Manager helps create an environment where clergy, staff, and volunteers can focus on ministry, evangelization, and the sacramental life of the Church.
This role requires a combination of strong professional leadership, financial competence, humility, discretion, and pastoral sensitivity.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Pastoral Collaboration
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Pastor on financial, administrative, and operational matters
- Participate in the Parish Leadership Team and support the parish’s pastoral priorities
- Foster collaborative relationships with clergy, staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, and diocesan partners
- Assist with long-term financial and operational planning for the parish
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and reporting
Financial Management & Stewardship
- Oversee parish financial operations including budgeting, reporting, and internal controls
- Prepare the annual operating budget with the Pastor and Parish Finance Council
- Provide financial reports and analysis for parish leadership and councils
- Ensure compliance with civil requirements and diocesan financial policies
- Prepare the parish’s annual financial report to parishioners
- Support stewardship initiatives including offertory programs, campaigns, and diocesan appeals
Operations, Facilities & Administration
- Oversee day-to-day parish operations and administrative systems
- Supervise administrative, accounting, and facilities staff
- Manage parish facilities, maintenance planning, safety, and security
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and purchasing
- Coordinate facility usage, parish calendar scheduling, and major events
- Support technology systems and identify opportunities for operational improvements
- Oversee major facility projects in collaboration with diocesan offices
Human Resources & Risk Management
- Support hiring, onboarding, and personnel administration for parish staff
- Ensure compliance with diocesan HR policies and employment regulations
- Support volunteer recruitment and formation
- Oversee insurance, risk management, and safety practices in coordination with diocesan offices
Qualifications
Required
- Active, practicing Catholic committed to the teachings and mission of the Church
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7 years of leadership experience in business administration, nonprofit management, parish administration, or a similar role
- Experience with budgeting, financial management, and operational oversight
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
- Ability to complete diocesan background screening and Safe Environment training
Preferred
- Experience working in a Catholic parish, diocese, school, or nonprofit organization
- Familiarity with diocesan financial and administrative practices
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating volunteers
- Experience supporting stewardship or development initiatives

Work Schedule
