Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Religion Teacher for Grades 7 & 8 at St. Lawrence School who can develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and educational standards. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where students can grow in their understanding of religion and spirituality. In addition to teaching responsibilities, candidates must hold Level II security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans covering a range of religious studies topics for middle school students.
- Create a supportive and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages students to express their beliefs and thoughts.
- Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and participation, offering constructive feedback for academic growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate religious teachings into various aspects of school life.
- Effectively communicate with parents to discuss student performance and address any concerns or questions.
- Stay informed about best practices in religious education and incorporate innovative teaching strategies into lesson plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification for middle school education.
- Prior experience teaching religious education or related subjects to middle school students.
- Strong understanding of Catholic teachings to integrate them respectfully and inclusively into lesson plans.
- Excellent communication skills for interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Passion for education and commitment to fostering students' spiritual growth.
- Level II security clearance.
