Job Summary
The Resource Teacher at St. Louis Catholic Academy provides targeted academic support to students with diverse learning needs. This role focuses on delivering individualized and small-group instruction, collaborating with classroom teachers, and ensuring that all students are supported in reaching their full academic and personal potential within a faith-based learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Intervention
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction in core subject areas
- Develop and implement intervention strategies to support student learning
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Student Support and Inclusion
- Support students with identified learning differences or academic challenges
- Promote inclusion by assisting students within the general education classroom when appropriate
- Foster student confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills
Assessment and Documentation
- Conduct informal and formal assessments to identify student needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans, if applicable
Collaboration
- Work closely with classroom teachers to align instruction and support strategies
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Collaborate with administration and support staff to ensure appropriate services
Faith Integration and School Community
- Support and uphold the Catholic mission and values of the school
- Participate in school liturgies, prayer, and community activities
- Foster a respectful and compassionate learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Certification or experience in special education, intervention, or related area preferred
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to Catholic education and student-centered learning
Work Environment
