Job Summary
Holy Cross Academy seeks a caring, dependable, and faith‑filled Early Childhood Teacher Assistant to support our afternoon (PM) early childhood program. The Teacher Assistant works collaboratively with the lead teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of young children in alignment with Catholic values.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with classroom instruction and daily routines during PM hours
- Support small‑group and individual learning activities
- Help maintain a positive, orderly, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
- Supervise children during transitions, dismissal, and afternoon activities
- Assist with preparation and cleanup of classroom materials
- Reinforce classroom rules, routines, and positive behavior expectations
- Provide care and assistance with basic needs (snack time, restroom breaks, etc.)
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with teachers, staff, and families
- Model Christian values and support the mission of Holy Cross Academy
- Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and child‑protection guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; college coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Experience working with young children (ages 3–6) preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Positive attitude, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
- Commitment to supporting Catholic education and Christian values
- Ability to stand, move, and engage actively with young children
Schedule
- PM hours only (afternoon schedule; exact hours determined by program needs)
