Job Summary
The Pre-Kindergarten Teacher fosters the spiritual, social, emotional, and academic development of young children in a nurturing, faith-centered environment. This role introduces early learning concepts while helping students grow in their understanding of God’s love and Catholic values.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons in early literacy, math readiness, social skills, and creative play
- Integrate Catholic teachings, prayer, and values into daily routines and classroom activities
- Create a safe, loving, and structured classroom environment that reflects Christian principles
- Lead students in simple prayers and participate in age-appropriate religious activities
- Promote social-emotional development, including sharing, cooperation, and respect for others
- Use play-based, hands-on, and interactive teaching methods
- Observe and assess student development and progress through informal assessments and documentation
- Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student growth and needs
- Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance and age-appropriate discipline strategies
- Collaborate with staff and participate in meetings, training, and school events
Job Requirements
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support the mission of Catholic education
- Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices
- Completion of background check and diocesan safe environment training
