Job Summary
The Kindergarten Teacher nurtures the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of young children in a faith-filled environment. This role introduces foundational academic skills while fostering a love of learning and an understanding of Catholic values and traditions.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons in early literacy, math, science, and social skills
- Integrate Catholic teachings, prayer, and values into daily classroom activities
- Create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that reflects Christian love and respect
- Lead students in daily prayer and participate in liturgies and religious celebrations
- Support the development of social skills such as sharing, cooperation, and empathy
- Use hands-on, play-based, and interactive learning strategies
- Assess student progress through observation, portfolios, and age-appropriate evaluations
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents/guardians
- Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques aligned with school policies
- Collaborate with faculty and participate in staff meetings and professional development
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field
- Valid state teaching certification (preferred or required)
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting
- Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support the mission of Catholic education
- Completion of diocesan background check and safe environment training
