Position Overview
St. James School is seeking a passionate and dedicated 5th Grade Teacher who will support our mission by fostering a loving, structured, and
engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate will integrate Catholic values into daily instruction while delivering a well-rounded,
standards-based curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
Key Responsibilities
● Create a positive, faith-filled classroom environment that reflects Catholic teachings and values
● Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with grade-level standards in core subject areas
● Integrate prayer, scripture, and Catholic identity into daily classroom life
● Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
● Foster students’ social, emotional, and spiritual development
● Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and guardians
● Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff
● Utilize assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student progress
● Participate in school events, liturgies, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
● Valid state teaching license (or ability to obtain)
● Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
● Practicing Catholic preferred, or willingness to support the Catholic identity of the school
● Strong classroom management and organizational skills
● Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
