At Academy of the Sacred Heart, we are dedicated to providing exceptional childcare services that nurture and support the unique gifts of every child. We believe in creating a safe and inclusive environment where children can thrive and develop to their full potential. As a childcare provider with us, you will play a crucial role in caring for and educating children, fostering their growth and well-being. Our school has openings for aides to work with children from birth to age 3 in its Early Childhood Program. Preference is given to applicants who have an educational background and experience in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create an emotionally responsive, caring, positive, and accepting environment supportive of the individual development of each child and family
- Supervise young children and ensure a safe and loving environment, including monitoring and responding to events at all times in the classroom, outdoor play areas, and other areas of the campus
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
- Implement daily routines and schedules to ensure consistency for the children
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the childcare area
- Follow proper health and safety protocols at all times
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students or children (preferred)
- Knowledge of caregiving principles and practices
- Familiarity with early childhood education concepts
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (preferred)
- Understanding of childhood development stages
- Ability to manage classroom activities effectively
- Experience with infant and young toddler care is a plus
- Passion for educating and nurturing young minds

- Completion of Protecting God's Children training, other health-related trainings (including, but not limited to CPR/First Aid), and fingerprints on file

- Maintain productive and professional relationships with other Sacred Heart faculty and staff
