Cathedral Preparatory School is a coed, college preparatory school, grades 9-12 located in Erie, Pennsylvania and part of Villa Maria Cathedral Preparatory Catholic School System of the Diocese of Erie. We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Social Studies Teacher with financial planning acumen to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Social Studies (particularly U. S. History), a desire to embrace the mission of our school, and a high standard for academic excellence. The teacher will be responsible for creating lesson plans, grading assignments, and providing feedback to students. The teacher will also be expected to build and maintain positive relationships with students, fellow faculty members, and administration.

Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with a department team, focused on student achievement and developing data-driven interventions.
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction to address departmental standards.
- Prepare lessons, grade student work, maintain digital gradebook, use school software, and program coordination.
- Communicate effectively with families.
- Be present at all staff meetings, retreats, and school events/celebrations.
- Assist with vigilance at school assemblies, prayer services, mass, and other class or school gatherings.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education - Social Studies
- PA Certification in Social Studies (Grades 7-12) (can be in process)
- Must be able to obtain Act 34, 114, 151, and 168 clearances before hire.
- Be able to support the mission of the school.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Be a practicing Catholic
- Master's Degree in education or content area
