Job Summary
The Part-Time Spanish Teacher at St. Gerard Majella Catholic School is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction to students in a faith-based learning environment. This role fosters students’ language acquisition while supporting their academic, cultural, and spiritual growth in alignment with Catholic values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver Spanish language instruction aligned with school curriculum
- Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports language learning
- Promote speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish
- Incorporate cultural awareness and appreciation into lessons
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and families
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support overall student development
- Maintain classroom organization and instructional materials
- Model and uphold Catholic values in all interactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Spanish, Education, or related field preferred
- Teaching certification preferred
- Fluency in Spanish required
- Experience teaching children in a classroom setting preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education
