Purpose of Position: The Security Associate is responsible for patrolling and monitoring the Cathedral property, as well as ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors while on or about the premises.
Responsibilities:
- Provides for the safety and security of Cathedral facilities, parishioners, visitors, volunteers and staff
- Deter, de-escalate, and resolve issues that may arise within the church building or any event
- Authorize access to facilities and ensure that access is controlled.
- Provide hospitality services to ensure that parishioners and visitors are offered assistance as appropriate to maintain a welcoming and safe environment
- Provide other duties as assigned
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and communicate well orally and in writing
- Ability to react to hostile and/or hazardous events and persons
- Must be flexible with work schedule
