Purpose of Position: The Reception and Visitor Services role is responsible for the coordination, facilitation, and oversight of (1) weekly tours, (2) the gift shop, and (3) assist the Director of Operations in a wide range of tasks including scheduling, volunteer management, purchasing, marketing, set-ups, monitoring, and data entry. This new employee is expected to participate in creating a productive and hospitable environment, promoting good morale, and ensuring adequate communication.
Responsibilities:
- Weekly Tours: Train, manage, and schedule docents, coordinate on-line tour times for schools, visitors, and special events. Manage tour equipment, gather feedback, and collect payments.
- Gift Shop: Procure and manage inventory, oversee square sales process, report income and expenses, and govern limited, but focused marketing efforts.
- Reception: Manage and monitor secured door access from remote location(s). Screen visitors, coordinate and cross reference with calendar entries, receive and direct incoming and outgoing parties as necessary.
- Logistics: May also assist the Director of Operations with event-related functions, such as:
- Mass counts
- Event Center related coordination and set-ups for large gatherings
- Assisting the public with a wide range of inquiries and issues
- Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested
