Purpose of Position: To support the Maintenance Supervisor in performing the proper cleaning, light maintenance, and security of facilities. Maintains physical aspects of the facilities to provide a safe, secure, clean, orderly, and visually appealing environment in accordance with the Cathedral’s mission.
Responsibilities:
- Provide custodial and light maintenance services for all facilities and grounds routinely and as needed
- Sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, offices, kitchens and dining areas, hauling out garbage, moving chairs and tables and other activities related to event preparation and clean up
- Provide facility access control for planned events as needed
- Respond to observed security concerns through appropriate notifications
- Identify and recommend improvements needed at all properties
- Other responsibilities as needed
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to use snow removal, lawn maintenance and other and power equipment as needed.
- Must be flexible with work schedule and to work for longer periods of time when position demands.
- Ability to react to hostile and/or hazardous events and persons.
- Lift and move heavy objects using proper techniques, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to respond reasonably to emergency facility situations
