PURPOSE OF POSITION:
A Mental Health Therapist at Catholic Charities:
Provides professional counseling to adults, adolescents, children, and families.
Performs assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning and case disposition.
Conducts counseling or therapeutic treatment in either individual, dyadic, or group sessions as appropriate, to assist clients in gaining insight into personal problems, define goals, and plan actions reflecting interests, abilities, and needs and to discuss progress towards achieving goals.
Acts as an advocate for clients and/or client systems when appropriate.
Performs appropriate case management; refers clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.
Documents client contacts and progress in accordance with accepted charting standards.
Consults with groups and individuals when needed.
Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources and community agencies.
Documents client contacts and progress in accordance with agency’s electronic health records systems and in compliance with program requirements.
Completes necessary administrative duties timely and accurately.
Participates in clinical and agency supervision, consultation and staff training as required.
Provides education, training and/or planning in mental health human service issues as appropriate.
Provides input to budget development and monitors budget for program area when appropriate.
Reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect.
Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed Behavioral Health Professional in the State of Colorado.
Able to effectively communicate orally with diverse groups and individuals.
Demonstrates effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Requires basic knowledge of computers to enter data, create communications and generate reports.
Demonstrate skills and sensitivity to the cultural/linguistic differences of staff, clients and community.
Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree (MA/MS/MSW) or doctorate degree from accredited college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training in the field of counseling psychology, social work, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience in the field of perinatal mental health, early childhood mental health, and trauma-informed practice is preferred

Shift is part time, but up to 40 hours per week.
