Description
St. George School is seeking a reliable and hardworking full-time Custodian. We are looking for a candidate who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The Custodian will be responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas, including the art room and middle school as well as assisting with general maintenance and summer deep cleaning.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning & Daily Maintenance
Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common spaces.
Take primary responsibility for the cleanliness of the art room and middle school areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces daily.
Empty trash and recycling and replace liners.
Set up and take down tables and chairs for school events and activities. - Building Maintenance
Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and basic upkeep.
Report any major maintenance or safety concerns to administration promptly.
Assist with maintaining school grounds as needed. - Safety & Organization
Ensure the building is secure, including locking/unlocking doors as assigned.
Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in an organized and safe manner.
Follow all safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment. - Summer & Deep Cleaning
Participate in summer cleaning, including deep cleaning classrooms, floors, furniture, and storage areas.
Assist with preparing the building for the upcoming school year. - Additional Responsibilities
Support school events with setup and cleanup as needed.
Contribute to a positive school environment through teamwork and a service-oriented attitude.
Qualifications & Skills
Ability to lift and move equipment such as vacuums, tables, and other furniture.
Experience in custodial or maintenance work preferred.
Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
Ability to perform light maintenance tasks.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe school environment.

Compensation
Salary based on experience and qualifications.
