Job Summary
The Catholic School Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction while fostering the spiritual, academic, and moral development of students. The teacher supports the mission of Catholic education by integrating faith, values, and Gospel teachings into all aspects of the learning environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective, standards-based instruction in assigned subject(s)
- Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and traditions into daily lessons and classroom activities
- Create a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment
- Lead students in prayer and participate in Masses, liturgies, and religious celebrations
- Promote academic excellence, critical thinking, and student engagement
- Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, tests, and observations
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parish staff
- Supervise students during non-instructional times (e.g., lunch, recess, dismissal)
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred for some positions)
- Valid state teaching certification (preferred or required depending on school/diocese)
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support the mission of Catholic education
- Completion of background check and diocesan safe environment training
