Position Overview
The Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth are seeking an experienced and reliable Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of all building systems on our campus. This position supports a residential community of religious Sisters and requires professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, fire protection, kitchen equipment, phone, and Wi‑Fi systems
• Oversee landscaping and wooded areas
• Coordinate and monitor vendor services and contracted maintenance
• Support capital projects, including obtaining quotes and tracking progress
• Maintain logs, inspections, certifications, and safety documentation
• Manage inventory and make necessary purchases
• Supervise maintenance staff
• Operate CSFN vehicles for duties and errands
Qualifications
• High school diploma required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building system maintenance and repair
• Relevant certifications preferred
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, climb ladders/roofs, and work in varied physical conditions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to work respectfully and confidentially in a home environment with Sisters and guests
Working Environment
This role supports a community of religious Sisters and requires professionalism, respect, and discretion. The Chief Engineer must be available for occasional emergencies outside regular hours and able to work safely with tools, equipment, and cleaning products.
