Job Summary
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School is seeking a welcoming, organized, and dependable Bilingual Secretary to provide front‑office and administrative support in both English and Spanish. This position serves as a key point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, fostering a hospitable, professional, and faith‑centered environment that reflects the mission and values of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet students, families, visitors, and guests in a warm and professional manner, in person and by phone, in both English and Spanish.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and relay accurate messages.
- Provide information regarding school programs, schedules, events, and policies to families and visitors.
- Perform general clerical duties including data entry, filing, copying, correspondence, and record‑keeping.
- Assist with attendance tracking, student records, and basic school documentation while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Support communication between the school and families, including translating written and verbal communications as needed.
- Assist administrators, faculty, and staff with day‑to‑day office needs and special projects.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, and professional front office environment.
- Support arrival, dismissal, and other school operations as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) required.
- Previous secretarial, receptionist, or office experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer‑service mindset.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including email, word processing, and office equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy school setting.
- Respect for and willingness to support the mission, teachings, and values of the Catholic Church.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the school office as needed.
- Ability to lift or carry office materials and supplies up to approximately 20 lbs.
