Position Summary
The Coordinator of Parishioner Engagement serves as the initial personal encounter between the
people of Saint Luke and the pastoral leadership. This position plays a pivotal role in parish
evangelization by welcoming new parishioners, initiating sacramental preparation processes, and
helping individuals and families take meaningful next steps in discipleship and in building
community in the parish. The Coordinator of Parishioner Engagement ensures that no one "falls
through the cracks" - that every inquiry is answered, every sacramental journey is
initiated properly, and every parishioner knows how to become more deeply involved in parish life.
This is a relational, highly visible, mission-focused role rooted in hospitality, organization, and
pastoral care.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Sacramental Onboarding
• Serve as the initial point of contact for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion,
Confirmation, OCIA/OCIC, and Marriage inquiries
• Initiate, organize, and oversee the administrative aspects of sacramental preparation processes
• Coordinate with clergy, the Pastoral Associate, and formation leaders as needed
2. Welcome & Parish Integration
• Promptly contact and welcome new parishioners
• Maintain timely response standards for parishioner inquiries (within 24–48 hours)
• Assist with parish registration and maintain accurate parish database records
• Conduct follow-up communication with parishioners to encourage engagement
• Connect individuals and families to parish "on-ramps" (FIRE, Blaze, ministries, service
opportunities, etc.)
3. Evangelization & Presence
• Be present at FIRE Nights and Blaze Nights
• Serve as an accessible and knowledgeable resource at parish events
• Support the evangelization goals of the Pastor in collaboration with the Pastoral Associate
• Help identify parishioners ready for deeper formation or leadership
4. Communication & Coordination
• Communicate parish processes clearly and professionally
• Maintain strict confidentiality and pastoral discretion
• Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth transitions into ministries and programs
Qualifications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Warm, approachable, and empathetic presence
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated with strong time management skills
• 1-2 years experience in parish ministry, education, administration, or relational customer
service preferred
• Comfortable with parish database systems and Microsoft Office
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred
• Willingness to pursue pastoral leadership education
• Bilingual preferred
Work Schedule
• 30 Hours per Week, or as directed by pastor
• Office Hours: Monday–Friday | 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Additional Presence Required:
• Sunday evenings during FIRE & Blaze Nights
• Special parish events (Family Bash, Craft Fair, etc.)
• Schedule may flex occasionally to accommodate Sunday evenings and special parish events.

This person should be energized by making phone calls, walking with families through sacramental
preparation, following up consistently, and ensuring that every person feels seen, known, and
invited into deeper discipleship.
Reporting Structure
This person reports directly to the Pastor and collaborates closely with the Pastoral Associate and
parish staff.
