Position Summary
Pope John Paul II High School seeks a dynamic and relationship-driven Coordinator of Alumni Affairs
to strengthen and grow meaningful connections between the school and its alumni community. This
individual will play a vital role in fostering lifelong engagement, stewardship, and pride among
PJP alumni while supporting the school's mission, advancement efforts, and long-term
sustainability.
The Coordinator of Alumni Affairs will work closely with the Director of Advancement and the
Advancement Team to develop and implement strategies that engage alumni across generations through
communication, events, volunteerism, and philanthropic support.
Key Responsibilities
Alumni Engagement & Relationship Building
● Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni relations at PJP.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni across all graduating classes.
● Develop strategies to engage young alumni, legacy families, and milestone classes.
● Foster a sense of pride, connection, and lifelong affiliation with PJP.
Programming & Events
● Plan, coordinate, and execute alumni events such as reunions, networking events, campus
gatherings, and regional meet-ups.
● Collaborate with school leadership on signature alumni events and traditions.
● Support alumni participation in school activities, liturgies, athletics, and special events.
Communications & Outreach
● Manage alumni communications including newsletters, emails, social media content, and website
updates in coordination with the Advancement and Marketing teams.
● Maintain accurate alumni records and contact information.
● Share alumni stories, achievements, and testimonials to strengthen community ties.
Advancement & Fundraising Support
● Partner with the Events Coordinator to support fundraising events.
● Assist in identifying, cultivating, and stewarding alumni donors.
● Encourage alumni participation in giving and volunteer leadership opportunities.
Volunteer & Leadership Development
● Recruit and manage alumni volunteers, ambassadors, and class representatives.
● Support the formation and engagement of alumni committees or advisory groups.
● Encourage alumni mentorship and career support opportunities for current students.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree required
● Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in advancement, development, communications, or a related
field.
● Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
● Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
● Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
● Experience with event planning and volunteer management.
● Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
● PJP alumnus/alumna or experience in a Catholic school environment preferred.
Work Environment
● Occasional evening and weekend work required for events.
● Collaborative, mission-driven school community.
● Reports to the Director of Advancement.
