Title:
Coordinator of Family Discipleship
Duties:
Organizes and implements parish-wide faith formation, including large group faith formation and activities, small groups, retreats, and sacramental preparation. Duties: attend weekly staff formation; participate in weekly Evangelization Team meetings; attend weekly 1:1 meetings with the supervisor, the Director of Mission and Discipleship; collaborate with all Evangelization Team members to provide continuous and coordinated evangelization opportunities for the entire parish; coordinate, attend, and facilitate monthly large group Family of Faith events; recruit, shepherd, form, train, and support parish leaders and small group facilitators and/or catechists for those participating in faith formation; assist in the preparation and facilitation of retreats and rehearsals for the parents of those seeking the Sacraments; additionally, they assist with the preparation for and the celebration of respective sacraments; provide curriculum, catechetical materials, calendar, and programming for facilitators and/or catechists in their area of responsibility (i.e., Family of Faith, OCIA/RICA, small groups, etc.); assist with evaluation of the previous year’s evangelization efforts, in order to discern, develop, and implement improvements; help review/update registration forms, as well as assist with the registration process and updating of current families in faith formation; attend the yearly staff retreat.
Requirements:
· High School degree or GED
· 5 years experience in weekly volunteer evangelization/catechesis
· In lieu of 5 years volunteer experience, employer will accept 1 year of professional evangelization or catechesis experience
· Fluency in Spanish
