Description
Description: Provide singing leadership within the choir through vocal tone, pitch and sight-reading. Attend scheduled, weekly, Thursday rehearsals and Sunday morning Mass(es); additional rehearsals and concerts including All Souls concert in November, Epiphany (Christmas) Concert in January and Pentecost (Easter) Concert in May/June; additional rehearsals and Masses including Christmas liturgies and Holy Week liturgies.
Requirements
· Be a skilled musician able to read music well with a good understanding of vocal technique and healthy singing fundamentals.
· The ability to smoothly transition between singing as a strong leader and as a member of a blended section as a particular situation requires.
· Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to interact with volunteer singers of your section. Sensitively manage giving feedback and correction to the volunteer singers of your section.
· Ability to lead sectional rehearsals
· Work in conjunction with other Section Leaders.
· Previous experience as a Section Leader or in a similar position is desirable, but not required.
· The ability to pass a background check is required.
