Job Summary
St. Patrick School is seeking a faith-filled, dedicated, and qualified Middle School Math Teacher who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to student success to the classroom. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment while providing rigorous mathematics instruction that prepares students for success in high school and beyond.
The Middle School Math Teacher will provide engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that develops students’ foundational skills, problem-solving abilities, mathematical reasoning, and confidence. The successful candidate will challenge students to reach their full potential while intentionally preparing them for the increased rigor and expectations of high school mathematics.
The teacher will recognize and respond to the needs of diverse learners, use assessment data to inform instruction, foster perseverance and independent learning, and model and integrate Catholic faith and values throughout the educational experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous, and developmentally appropriate mathematics instruction for middle school students.
- Build strong foundational math skills while developing students’ problem-solving, critical-thinking, and mathematical reasoning abilities.
- Prepare students for the rigor, expectations, and academic demands of high school mathematics.
- Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, perseverance, confidence, and a growth mindset.
- Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate support and enrichment for diverse learners.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
- Establish clear expectations for academic achievement, classroom behavior, and student responsibility.
- Encourage students to become independent, reflective, and motivated learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support student achievement and the overall mission of the school.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
- Integrate Catholic faith, values, and principles into daily instruction and classroom life.
- Participate in school activities, professional development, and other duties that support the mission and community of St. Patrick School.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification appropriate for middle school mathematics.
- Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics concepts and instructional practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
- Commitment to creating a positive, respectful, and academically challenging learning environment.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching middle school mathematics.
- Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners.
- Familiarity with using assessment data to drive instructional decisions.
- Experience in or a strong commitment to Catholic education.
- A demonstrated commitment to the academic, spiritual, and personal development of students.
