Job Summary
Substitute teachers are “as-needed” positions that are key to maintaining continuity in student learning and classroom routines during the absence of the regular teacher. By delivering prepared lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring student safety and engagement this role ensures that the school operates smoothly.
Job Responsibilities
Classroom Instruction and Student Supervision
• Follow and deliver lesson plans left by the regular teacher, adapting as necessary to meet student needs.
• Maintain order and ensure safety in the classroom and school premises.
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Follow school safety and emergency procedures accurately.
Communication
• Communicate with school administration about student behavior or progress.
• Leave notes on class progress and any challenges or highlights for the returning teacher.
Job Requirements
• Minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• Commitment to Catholic values and willingness to support the school’s mission
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to teach in various grade levels or subjects
• Willingness to follow teacher’s lesson plans and support student learning
