Although Saint Mark is an elementary school, our Middle School program is a "school within a school," where students are prepared for the rigor of high school.
The core responsibilities of the position include planning, implementing, and supervising the religious education program for grades 5 through 8 in accordance with the goals, policies, procedures, philosophy, and curriculum of the school and the Diocese of Brooklyn.
Along with following a curriculum, the teacher is responsible for fostering the intellectual, social, physical, and faith development of his/her students.

• actively engage students of all abilities and learning styles
• create differentiated unit plans and assessments
• assign and review meaningful homework
• demonstrate effective classroom management by developing an understanding of students in their classroom
• collaborate with faculty, especially other members of the middle school "team"
• communicate effectively with parents and families.
Basic qualifications include...
• Must be a practicing Roman Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic education
• Have a bachelor's degree or higher
• Hold a valid New York State Certification or be eligible for certification
• Prior experience in a Catholic school setting would be beneficial.
