Kindergarten Teacher | Rochester Christian School | Rochester, NY
Rochester Christian School is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered Kindergarten Teacher who is called to nurture the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth of our youngest elementary students. This is an opportunity to lay a strong foundation for lifelong learning while pointing children to Christ each day.
The ideal candidate will create a joyful, engaging classroom where students develop foundational literacy, mathematics, and critical thinking skills through developmentally appropriate instruction rooted in a biblical worldview. We are looking for an educator who values strong relationships with students and families, collaborates well with colleagues, and is committed to helping each child grow in both knowledge and faith.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Kindergarten instruction aligned with school curriculum.
- Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment where every child is known, loved, and encouraged.
- Integrate biblical truth throughout daily instruction and model Christ-like character.
- Assess student progress and communicate regularly with families.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to support student success and strengthen the school community.
- Pursue professional growth and contribute positively to the mission and culture of Rochester Christian School.
Qualifications:
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission and philosophy of Rochester Christian School.
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- New York State teaching certification (preferred or working toward certification).
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- A heart for partnering with families and helping young children develop a love for learning and for the Lord.
