St. John's Preparatory School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Position
Mathematics Teacher - Possible Classes include Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess a strong educational background in Mathematics or a closely related field and demonstrate a passion for inspiring students to appreciate mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The ideal candidate will hold a master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related discipline.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach New York State Regents mathematics courses, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, and may have opportunities to teach advanced coursework based on qualifications and departmental needs.
Candidates should be prepared to:
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with the New York State Learning Standards and Regents curriculum.
- Develop and implement meaningful assessments to monitor student progress and promote academic achievement.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and academically challenging classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with students, parents, faculty, and administration.
- Participate actively in the life of the school community and support its mission and values.
