Purpose of Position: The Director of Parish Advancement is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development strategy that supports long-term growth of the parish, with active participation in liturgies and programs.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with excellent database management skills and a commitment to exceptional donor stewardship. This is a full-time position working Monday – Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends when deemed necessary for a ministerial role.
General Accountabilities: Employment in and by Pax Christi is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner which is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Catholic Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals, or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese, such that can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. Adherence to confidentiality is required in all matters pertaining to members’ personal information. It is required that this employee be an active, participating Roman Catholic.
Representative Responsibilities:
Be present and prepared to work, on time, for all scheduled hours and events. Participate in staff activities appropriate to one’s role, including but not limited to staff meetings, shared ministry celebrations, staff events such as staff retreat days, and engage in self-development activities such as personal reading, networking, and continuing education as appropriate to one’s role.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement comprehensive development strategies that support long-term growth and sustainability.
- Oversee and maintain donor records; monitor and analyze giving trends.
- Cultivate donor relationships by producing personalized correspondence and preparing timely acknowledgment letters.
- Generate annual report data for inclusion in parish communications.
- Develop and promote planned giving initiatives, developing strategies, and ensuring the long-term stability of Pax Christi Catholic Community.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to promote the church’s mission through marketing materials, digital media, and special events to increase visibility and encourage giving.
