POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Manager & Director of Parish Stewardship is a combined, part-time, non-exempt position responsible for overseeing the physical plant operations of St. Francis of Assisi Parish while also leading the parish’s Capital Campaign and ongoing stewardship development efforts. Reporting directly to the Pastor, this role ensures parish facilities are safe, compliant, and well maintained, while inspiring parishioners to invest generously in the mission and future of the parish.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (and other duties as assigned):

Facilities Management Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of all parish buildings and grounds; identify maintenance needs and prioritize corrective actions.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, landscaping, and other building systems.
- Respond to facilities emergencies, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Manage vendors and contractors, including solicitation of bids, verification of licenses and insurance, and monitoring performance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, fire safety regulations, ADA requirements, and Diocesan policies.
- Maintain facilities records, inventories, warranties, and equipment manuals.
- Assist with planning and execution of capital improvement projects and preparation of facilities budgets and reports.
Stewardship & Capital Campaign Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary staff leader for all phases of the parish Capital Campaign beginning Summer 2026.
- Develop the Case for Support and campaign strategy in collaboration with the Pastor.
- Recruit, train, and support Campaign Cabinet members and volunteers.
- Conduct donor research, cultivate relationships, and support major gift solicitations.
- Oversee pledge processing, donor acknowledgment, database accuracy, and fulfillment tracking.
- Prepare campaign communications, progress reports, and stewardship materials.
- Ensure compliance with Diocesan fundraising policies and applicable California law.

THIS POSITION SUPERVISES:
Custodial staff and/or contracted facilities service providers (as applicable).
QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY:

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of combined experience in facilities management and/or non-profit fundraising or parish stewardship.
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, and service agreements required.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with donor management or facilities software preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk parish grounds, climb stairs, and lift up to 20 pounds as required for facilities oversight.
Other Requirements:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing OR must support the teachings, values, and mission of the Catholic Church.
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of Diocesan background check and VIRTUS Safe Environment training.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with parish staff, volunteers, and diocesan personnel.
- Occasional evening, weekend, travel, and overtime work as required.
Pay Rate: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
Part-Time: Approximately 25 to less than 30 hours per week.
