The Role
We are looking for a Humanities specialist who can inspire a love for storytelling, critical thinking, and historical inquiry in our Middle School students. The ideal candidate will be an expert at connecting the past to the present while helping students find their voice through writing and discourse.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Excellence: Deliver engaging, rigorous lessons in Language Arts and Social Studies that align with NJ Student Learning Standards and Diocesan guidelines.
- Positive Classroom Culture: Implement effective classroom management strategies with a strong emphasis on Positive Behavior Support (PBS) to create a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
- Spiritual Leadership: Infuse Catholic values and teachings into the daily life of the classroom, supporting the school's mission of faith formation.
- Data-Informed Teaching: Use formal and informal assessments to differentiate instruction, ensuring all learners reach their full potential.
- Community Collaboration: Partner with parents, administration, and fellow faculty to support the "whole child" philosophy.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Prior experience teaching Middle School Humanities (English/Language Arts and/or Social Studies) is preferred.
- Certification: Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification (Elementary with Subject Matter Specialization or K-12 Subject Area).
- Pedagogy: Strong understanding of modern pedagogical trends, including project-based learning and technology integration.
- Character: A commitment to the mission of Catholic education and a desire to be an active part of a close-knit school community.
