The Head of School & Guide is responsible for both classroom leadership and school leadership. This individual ensures fidelity to the Catholic and Montessori identity of the school,
fosters a strong and unified culture, and leads the day-to-day operations of St. Monica’s Montessori. This role is ideal for a leader who desires to remain deeply engaged in the classroom while also shaping the direction and life of the school.
Leadership Structure
The Head of School & Guide reports directly to the President and leads the day-to-day life of the school in close collaboration with the President.
School Leadership (Head of School)
● Lead the day-to-day life of the school, including faculty, students, and program implementation
● Foster a strong Catholic culture rooted in prayer, virtue, and community
● Ensure fidelity to authentic Montessori practice across all classrooms
● Observe, support, and develop Guides and staff
● Oversee school operations and maintain a healthy, unified team culture
● Partner with the President on school growth, enrollment, and long-term direction
● Build strong relationships with families and the broader community
● Ensure timely and accurate completion of required reporting, including compliance with
state (DPI), diocesan, and other regulatory requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
● Lead classroom prayer and participate in daily Scripture reflection
● Supervise students throughout the school day, including transitions and dismissal
● Participate in school events and community life, including those outside regular hours
● Engage in ongoing professional development and spiritual formation
● Support the broader needs of the school as they arise
