The Assistant Principal fulfills the?mission of the Catholic school?by assisting the principal in the?daily operation?and management of the school, faculty, and students. This role emphasizes?curriculum and instruction, student discipline, and fostering a safe, faith-filled learning environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Mission Leadership:?Acts as a?witness to Gospel values?and promotes the fundamental values of a Catholic school.
- Instructional Supervision:?Oversees the?development and evaluation of curriculum?to ensure alignment with Catholic teachings and diocesan, national, and state standards. Analyzes assessment data for trends and adjusts instructional initiatives and resources.
- Student Life & Discipline:?Establishes and enforces?discipline policies?and coordinates student life initiatives.
- Operational Support:?Assists with?master scheduling, assessment coordination, and faculty professional development.
- Administrative Proxy:?Serves as the?principal in the principal’s absence?and manages daily logistics.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Faith:?Must be an?enthusiastic practicing Catholic?in good standing with the Church.
- Education:?Advanced degree?in an education-related field (Educational Leadership preferred).
- Certification:?Must possess (or be eligible for) a?Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate?in Educational Leadership or similar.
- Experience:?Minimum of?five years of instructional experience; prior administrative experience is preferred.
- Compliance:?Successful completion of?FDLE Level II Criminal Background Screening?and?Safe Environment Training.
