In the faithful pursuit of this mission, St. John Neumann, a dynamic, multicultural parish in Gaithersburg Maryland, is seeking a passionate, evangelizing Catholic who who is deeply rooted in, and committed to living the teachings of the Catholic Church to serve as the Coordinator of Faith Formation. The Coordinator will primarily direct the children's faith formation program and sacramental preparation. In addition, the Coordinator of Faith Formation will collaborate with the Youth Ministry team and serve as a support or OCIA program for teens. The Coordinator will report directly to the Pastor and be responsible for nurturing and guiding the spiritual growth of the parish community through these essential ministries
The salary range for this role is $45,000 to $55,000 and the hours can be 35-40 per week

Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct Children’s Faith Formation, and Sacramental preparation.
- Develop and implement a variety of religious education programs for 300 children.
- Identify, coordinate and mentor catechists and volunteers.
- Supervises other religious education personnel.
- Evaluate program curricula and acts as parish resource person in methods and some areas of Theology
- Collaborate with the Youth minister, youth group and OCIT.
- Responsible for developing a budget for Religious Education Programs
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintains compliance with all archdiocesan and parish policies and procedures
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be a practicing Catholic with a love for the faith and a commitment to living its teachings.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, and able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, taking initiative and completing tasks in accordance with given instructions, established routines, and best practices.
- Positive, solution-oriented attitude with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support the ministry.
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate in Theology or Religious Education preferred. We are willing to discuss.
- At least two years of experience in a parish setting, specifically as a catechetical leader preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and charitably with students, parents, candidates, and volunteers on a regular basis.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite helpful.
- Experience with administrative functions (budgeting, scheduling, institutional relationships) helpful.
- Experience with database and records management.
