Description
Directs, coordinates and/or performs music which is liturgically appropriate for parish liturgies and other designated celebrations.
Responsible for planning and coordinating a comprehensive parish music program which typically includes several choirs/musician groups, supervision and training of a number of musicians and cantors performing at various liturgies and a number of specially designed musical performances during the liturgical year. The Music Director II classification requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Music (Masters of Music preferred) or the equivalent in education and experience. It also requires considerable instrumental and vocal skill and strong knowledge of roman Catholic Liturgy.
