Description:
St. Paul Catholic School is seeking a caring and dependable Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and student development. This role partners with the lead teacher to create a safe, engaging, and faith-centered learning environment while providing individualized support to students. The Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in nurturing the academic, social, and spiritual growth of each child.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the classroom teacher with daily instruction and student activities
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts
- Supervise students in classrooms, lunch, recess, and other school settings
- Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organization, and instructional materials
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom environment
- Help with snack/lunch routines and classroom transitions
- Promote positive behavior using appropriate guidance and intervention strategies
- Maintain attendance, activity records, and incident reports as directed
- Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding student needs
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school activities
- Model respect, teamwork, and Catholic values in all interactions
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred
- Experience working with children (especially PreK–4) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to supporting the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to manage a full school day in an active environment
- Lift up to 35 pounds and perform routine physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, etc.)
- Supervise students in various settings, including outdoors and during active conditions
- Maintain composure and attentiveness in a dynamic school environment
