Job Summary
St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and nurturing First Grade Teacher to join our faith‑centered learning community. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that fosters academic growth, social development, and spiritual formation in alignment with the mission of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, standards‑based instruction for first grade students
- Create a positive, structured, and welcoming classroom environment
- Support students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth
- Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction and classroom activities
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and families
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents/guardians
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to support student success
- Participate in school liturgies, meetings, professional development, and school events
- Support the mission and values of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
- Valid Missouri teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience teaching at the primary level preferred
- Strong classroom management, organization, and instructional skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Practicing Catholic preferred; all candidates must support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
