Position Title: Faith Formation Assistant
Reports To: Director of Faith Formation

Employment Type: Part-Time
Hours: Tuesday-Friday 2PM-7PM, Sunday 8:30AM-1:30PM
Position Summary
The Faith Formation Assistant supports the Director of Faith Formation in the planning,
organization, and implementation of the parish’s religious education programs for children and
teens. This role assists with curriculum organization, parent communication, volunteer
coordination, and program logistics. The assistant will also oversee the Spanish-language
session of Sunday School and help foster a welcoming environment for families participating in
Faith Formation.
The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic who actively participates in the sacramental life of
the Church, is fluent in Spanish, and has a heart for serving children and families in their journey
of faith.
Essential Responsibilities
-Assist the Director of Faith Formation in coordinating parish religious education
programs for children and teens ages 6–17.
-Help organize and prepare curriculum materials for catechists and volunteers.
-Assist with registration, record keeping, and sacramental preparation documentation.
-Communicate regularly with parents regarding schedules, events, and program updates.
-Recruit, welcome, and support catechists and volunteers within the Faith Formation
program.
-Help coordinate special events such as retreats, sacramental preparation sessions, and
formation opportunities.
-Oversee and support the Spanish-language Sunday School session, ensuring families
are supported and catechists have needed materials.
-Assists in maintaining a welcoming, organized, and faith-filled environment for students
and families.
-Collaborate with parish staff to support the broader mission of parish life.
-All other tasks as assigned by the Pastor.
Qualifications
Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
-Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church and actively participating in the
Sacraments.
-Comfortable working with children and teenagers ages 6–17.
-Strong organizational and communication skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, parents, and parish leadership.
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain clear communication with families.
Additional Requirements
-Must complete all diocesan Safe Environment requirements.
-Availability on Sundays is required.
-Occasional evenings or weekends for parish events and programs.
