The Faith Formation Associate will assist the Director of Adult Formation with sacramental preparation and general faith formation programming. The Faith Formation Associate must be a team player and have strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills. He or she will be able to work a highly flexible weekly schedule of approximately 25-28 hours consisting of days, evenings, and weekends.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assist with intake, catechesis, and ongoing discernment for participants in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
· Assist with volunteer recruitment and training
· Participate in weekly parish staff meetings. Attend appropriate diocesan meetings related to faith formation.
· Continue development of personal and professional skills via courses, workshops, and conferences in the fields of religious education and catechesis.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Arts in religious education, theology, pastoral studies, or related field from an accredited college or university
· Prior faith formation leadership experience in a parish or diocese
· Thorough understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church and catechetical methods
· Strong communication, technology, interpersonal, and organizational skills
