Duties

Collection Management - Select, acquire, organize, and maintain print and digital resources (books, media, databases) to support the school’s curriculum and mission.
Instructional Support - Collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy, research skills, and responsible use of information into classroom instruction.
Technology & Resource Access - Ensure effective access to library materials, digital tools, and research platforms for students and faculty, including training and support in their use.
Administration & Leadership - Manage the library budget, oversee library staff, and develop and implement library policies, procedures, and strategic goals.
Library as a Hub - Cultivate the library as a welcoming, student-centered space that supports study, research, reading, and quiet reflection.
Student Engagement & Programs - Promote a culture of reading and inquiry through clubs and activities (e.g., Book Society) and other literary or research-focused programs.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science preferred.
CA Teacher Librarian Services Credential or equivalent teaching credential/license preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in any field required.
5–10 years of professional librarian experience, preferably including service in a school.
Demonstrated success working with high school students and collaborating with faculty on curriculum and instruction is highly valued,
Proven leadership and management skills, including budget development and strategic planning.
Strong knowledge of current and emerging library technologies, integrated library systems, and online research databases.
Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, faculty, students, and parents.
Demonstrates a personal commitment to the philosophy of a Catholic education.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain in an office at a computer workstation and access information from a computer and use a telephone. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the school, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, briefings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend meetings or events. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
