Christ the King and St. Anthony Schools are seeking an energetic music teacher to work full-time in our schools. The Music Teacher provides engaging and developmentally appropriate music instruction for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The teacher fosters a love of music, creativity, and performance while helping students develop foundational music skills including rhythm, melody, singing, movement, and music literacy. The position supports school programs, performances, and events throughout the year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver music instruction for students in PreKindergarten through 8th grade aligned with school curriculum and standards.
- Teach fundamental music concepts including rhythm, pitch, melody, harmony, music notation, and listening skills.
- Lead vocal and classroom music activities such as singing, movement, instruments, and creative expression.
- Develop lessons that build progressively from elementary through middle school music skills.
- Prepare students for school performances, concerts, and special events throughout the year.
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes engagement and appropriate behavior.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to support school-wide initiatives and programs.

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education.
- Valid Iowa state teaching license (or ability to obtain one).
- Experience teaching elementary or middle school music preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Ability to plan developmentally appropriate lessons across multiple grade levels.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
