Director of Communications
Part-Time (Approximately 20 Hours/Week)

Saint Andrew Catholic Church is a vibrant and growing parish serving downtown Clemson and the university community. We are seeking a part-time Director of Communications to oversee and elevate parish-wide communications through professional design, consistency, and timely execution.
This position ensures that all parish communications, print and digital, are clear, cohesive, and professionally presented, supporting parish growth while reducing internal stress through reliable systems and deadlines.
This role has authority to manage communication deadlines and standardize submission processes across parish ministries.
Core Purpose of the Role
To create clarity, consistency, and excellence across all Saint Andrew communications platforms, strengthening parish engagement and reducing last-minute communication needs through proactive planning and professional design.
Primary Responsibilities:
Bulletin Design and Production
- Professionally design and layout the weekly parish bulletin using Adobe InDesign or Canva.
- Maintain consistent typography, branding, and visual hierarchy.
- Establish and enforce content submission deadlines.
- Prepare and submit print-ready files to the bulletin publisher on schedule.
Digital Communications
- Format and schedule parish communications through Flocknote.
- Produce parish-wide announcement graphics and slides for TV monitors and digital signage.
- Maintain consistency across all digital communications.
Social Media and Promotion
- Design and publish promotional graphics for events, liturgical seasons, and parish initiatives.
- Schedule and post social media content in coordination with parish leadership.
- Ensure messaging and branding remain consistent across platforms.
Design Systems and Branding
- Maintain and organize parish templates, logos, fonts, and design assets.
- Develop and uphold simple brand standards across ministries.
- Create reusable templates for recurring events and liturgical seasons.
PDF and Document Support
- Utilize Adobe Acrobat Pro for parish document workflows and administrative PDF needs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign and Canva.
- Working ability in Photoshop and Illustrator preferred.
- Strong graphic design competence (layout, typography, visual hierarchy, photo handling).
- Strong organizational discipline and deadline management.
- Ability to work independently with good judgment and clear communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Canva for quick drafts/templates, with ability to integrate designs into the parish’s primary workflow.
- Familiarity with Catholic parish life and the liturgical calendar.
Compensation
Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week
Hourly wage commensurate with experience
