Job Summary
A Catholic school teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in accordance with the school curriculum while fostering the spiritual, moral, and intellectual development of students consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Teachers serve as role models of Christian values and support the faith life of the school community.
Job Responsibilities
1. Instruction and Curriculum

Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with school and diocesan curriculum standards.

Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and exams.

Use varied teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.

Integrate Catholic values and teachings across subject areas when appropriate.
2. Faith Formation

Support the Catholic identity and mission of the school.

Participate in prayer, liturgies, and religious celebrations with students.

Model Christian behavior and moral values in daily interactions.

Encourage students’ understanding of the Gospel and Catholic traditions.
3. Classroom Management
-
Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment.

Establish clear expectations for student behavior.

Address discipline issues consistent with school policies and Catholic principles.
4. Student Development

Promote students’ intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual growth.

Provide guidance and encouragement to help students reach their potential.

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.

Valid state teaching certification (as required).

Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support the mission of the Catholic school.

Knowledge of Catholic teachings and traditions is beneficial.

Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
