Brief Job Description: We seek an International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator to provide academic leadership for both the Middle Years Program and Diploma Program. This role supports faculty and students in living the IB mission through thoughtful program oversight, professional collaboration, and a shared commitment to inquiry, justice, and care for the whole person. Key Responsibilities:
Academic Vision & Strategy
• Articulate and advance a clear, schoolwide academic vision aligned with the school’s mission, values, and strategic plan.
• Ensure coherence and alignment across curricula, programs, and divisions, including vertical and horizontal articulation.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen rigor, relevance, and innovation in teaching and learning.
• Maintain an expertise is IBDP and IB MYP pedagogy and curriculum.

Curriculum & Instructional Leadership
• Oversee curriculum development, review, and revision across departments and grade levels.
• Ensure curricula are standards-based, aligned with pedagogy of the International Baccalaureate, developmentally appropriate, and responsive to student needs.
• Promote best practices in pedagogy, with an emphasis on inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary approaches, international mindedness, and inclusive instructional strategies.
• Support the effective integration of educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning.

Assessment & Data-Informed Practice:
• Provide leadership in the development and implementation of authentic assessment practices that are aligned, meaningful, and balanced in accordance with IB MYP and IBDP assessment criteria.
• Oversee grading, reporting, and feedback practices to ensure consistency, clarity, and equity.
• Analyze student performance data and assessment results to identify trends, inform instructional improvement, and guide academic decision-making.
• Collaborate with faculty and leadership to set academic goals and monitor progress.

Faculty Leadership & Professional Growth
• Lead, support, and evaluate faculty, and staff including department chairs, program coordinators, counselors, and social worker.
• Design and oversee a comprehensive professional development program aligned with school priorities and faculty needs, and in support of continuous development of the International Baccalaureate standards and practices and College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum and assessment.
• Support faculty onboarding, mentoring, and evaluation processes in collaboration with school leadership.
• Foster a culture of reflective practice, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.

Student Learning & Support
• Collaborate with counselors and administrators to ensure academic programs support diverse learners.
• Oversee IB academic policies (along with IB Coordinator) as well as policies related to grading, course placement, and support structures.
• Monitor student workload, academic balance, and well-being in collaboration with student support teams and IB Coordinator.
• Participate in academic planning for course offerings, scheduling, and staffing.
• Assist in the creation of the Master Schedule.

Program Oversight & Coordination
• Provide oversight of academic programs and initiatives, including (as applicable) IB, AP, honors, and other signature programs.
• Ensure alignment between specialized programs and the school’s broader academic goals.
• Collaborate with program leaders to ensure compliance with external standards and accrediting bodies.

Collaboration & School Leadership
• Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and school improvement efforts.
• Serve as to liaison to the Board of Director’s Academic Committee.
• Serve on the Admissions Team.
• Partner with the Head of School on faculty staffing and resource allocation.
• Support communication with families regarding academic philosophy, expectations, and program initiatives.
• Represent the school in academic forums, accreditation processes, and professional networks.
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or a related field (doctorate preferred).
• Valid teaching certification.
• Significant classroom teaching experience (minimum 5–10 years preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership experience in academic administration, department leadership, or program coordination.
• Strong understanding of curriculum design, instructional best practices, and assessment.

Workload, Expectations & Compensation:
• Full-time administrative position.
• Occasional evening or weekend commitments for academic events, faculty meetings, or parent engagement.
• Ongoing professional learning and leadership development expected.
• Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications, up to $60,000 annually.
