Duties
- Safely operate school bus in accordance with traffic laws and company policies
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical readiness
- Maintain clear communication with principal, teachers, and parents using effective communication skills
- Manage behavior on the bus through positive behavior management techniques to ensure a safe environment for all passengers
- Assist children with boarding and exiting the bus
- Follow designated routes and schedules accurately while adapting to traffic or weather conditions as needed
- Keep detailed records of trips, incidents, and vehicle maintenance logs
Experience
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement
- Prior experience in bus driving preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems to assist with basic troubleshooting and safety checks
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques to handle student conduct effectively
