Position Summary: The Financial Analyst for Catholic Charities of South Carolina supports the mission of the Church by ensuring strong financial stewardship, transparency, and sustainability across all charitable programs and operations. This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance reporting to help guide the organization’s strategic and operational decision-making. The Financial Analyst will collaborate with program directors and senior management to ensure fiscal accountability and effective use of resources in service to those in need throughout South Carolina.

Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to forecast revenues, expenses, and cash flows for Catholic Charities programs, grants, and administrative operations.
- Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends to support strategic decisions and improve program efficiency.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports for review by Executive Director and the CCSC Board of Directors.
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models to support strategic initiatives, grant proposals, and long-term organizational planning.
- Assist in annual budgeting and reforecasting processes, consolidating data from departments and programs.
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance, identify variances, and work with program leaders to ensure financial accountability.
- Support grant management through financial tracking, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.
- Participate in developing and maintaining standardized financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliant and efficient operations.
- Partner with Diocesan office teams to enhance data accuracy, automate reporting, and refine analytical tools.
- Assist with the annual audit process, providing supporting schedules and documentation as needed.
- Promote best practices in stewardship, reflecting the values and mission of Catholic Charities and the Diocese of Charleston.
Requirements:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, supportive of the mission and values of Catholic Charities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, or related roles (non-profit or grant-funded experience preferred).
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to draw insights from complex data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with financial reporting systems or business intelligence tools preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Strong initiative, problem-solving ability, and commitment to continuous process improvement.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: The candidate should have knowledge of how to use copier, fax machine, phone, and postage machine. A driver’s license is required to occasionally run errands, pick up supplies for events, etc. This position involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands and feet, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, reaching above shoulders, and tasting/smelling at least 1/3 of the time. The candidate should also be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
