Overview
The Music Director for the Sunday 5 p.m. band provides musical, liturgical, and pastoral leadership for the parish’s contemporary worship ensemble. This role supports the Church’s mission by fostering prayerful, vibrant, and reverent music that serves the liturgy and helps the faithful participate fully, consciously, and actively in the Mass.
Key Responsibilities
Liturgical & Musical Leadership
• Select music that aligns with the liturgical calendar, the readings of the day, and Catholic liturgical norms.
• Ensure all musical choices support the structure and theology of the Mass, including the Responsorial Psalm, Gospel Acclamation, Eucharistic acclamations, and Communion hymns.
• Arrange and rehearse music for the band, shaping a cohesive and prayerful sound.
• Lead rehearsals and provide musical direction during Mass with clarity and pastoral sensitivity.
• Collaborate with the parish’s Director of Music and Director of Liturgy to ensure musical unity with parish liturgical vision.

Administrative Duties
• Prepare weekly music plans for the 5pm mass.
Qualifications
• Strong proficiency in piano and vocals.
• Experience leading contemporary Catholic or Christian worship in a liturgical setting.
• Understanding of Catholic liturgy, liturgical seasons, and the role of music in the Mass.
